Calendar of Events

Our regular meetings offer a wide variety of activities, from formal dinners to casual social nights and high profile lectures through to jam sessions and workshops. Some occasions are open to everyone whereas others must be kept behind closed doors. If there’s something here you like the look of but aren’t a member and might like to come along, please just get in touch. In the meantime, here’s what we’re getting up to…

Unless otherwise stated, the time and venue will be ‘the usual’.

Disclaimer: Please be aware that in the albeit extremely rare event of unforeseen and/OR unavoidable circumstances, meeting dates and/or content may be subject to change at short notice. Should this be the case on any occasion we will broadcast the change as soon as possible along with our apologies for any disappointment caused.

    The CMS Auction

The time comes around every year now when we gather all our 'magic drawer treasures' and those things lurking in the attic, in a bid to make some space for more gear. This is a good opportunity to sell off your unwanted magical bits and pieces and perhaps grab a bargain to fill the space afterwards.

If you have something to sell, you'll need to fill in an auction form (download here: CMS Auction Sheet). This can be done on screen, or if you like using pens and pencils you can print it and do that. Either way, you'll need to bring TWO COPIES of the completed form; one for the auctioneer and one for admin (and a third one for you if you want one for your records).

Members are politely asked not  to go mad and bring dozens of tricks / props etc to sell as we have a limited amount of time. The suggestion is a '10 trick limit' and if there is time at the end we can look at additional lots. You don't have to sell or buy to attend; the spectacle might be entertainment enough!

Visiting magicians are welcome but PLEASE do get in touch beforehand, especially if you have something you'd like to auction off.
